Heavy-Duty Front Shock Upgrade – KONI FSD for 2001-2011 Workhorse W-Series Class A Motorhome

Upgrade the front suspension performance of your motorhome with the KONI 8805-1001 Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) Front Shock, designed for 2001-2011 Workhorse W-Series Class A motorhome chassis. These premium KONI FSD shocks are engineered to improve ride comfort, stability, and handling—especially important for gas and diesel Class A motorhomes built on Workhorse and Roadmaster RSR platforms.

KONI Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) technology automatically adapts to changing road conditions. The shock stays firm when you need more control—such as during cornering, lane changes, and heavy suspension inputs—but rides softer over expansion joints, rough pavement, and uneven roads to deliver a smoother driving experience.

A specialized internal valve helps filter out harsh vibrations before they reach the chassis, reducing driver fatigue while maintaining excellent suspension control. This gives you the best of both worlds: improved handling without sacrificing ride comfort.

If your motorhome experiences harsh ride quality, excessive front-end bounce, or poor highway stability, upgrading to KONI FSD shocks is one of the most effective ways to improve ride comfort, suspension control, and driver confidence.

Product Benefits:

  • Frequency Selective Damping automatically adapts to road conditions
  • Improves ride comfort without sacrificing handling performance
  • Reduces vibration from expansion joints and rough pavement
  • Improves steering stability and front suspension control
  • Ideal for Class A motorhomes and heavily loaded RV applications
  • Premium KONI durability and long service life

Ideal For:

  • Class A gas motorhomes
  • Workhorse W-Series suspension upgrades
  • Holiday Rambler and Monaco diesel RSR chassis applications
  • Long-distance RV travel
  • Motorhomes carrying heavy loads
  • Drivers seeking improved ride comfort and stability

The KONI 8805-1001 FSD front shock is a direct replacement suspension upgrade designed for Workhorse W-Series Class A motorhome chassis and select Holiday Rambler and Monaco diesel RSR applications. These chassis are widely used under Class A motorhomes where improved front suspension control, steering stability, and ride comfort are essential. This shock provides reduced front-end bounce, better highway control, and a smoother ride compared to factory shock absorbers.

Other Information:

Q: What is KONI Frequency Selective Damping (FSD)?
A: FSD technology automatically adjusts damping based on road frequency, allowing the shock to remain firm during handling inputs while softening over rough pavement and expansion joints.

Q: Are KONI FSD shocks better than factory Workhorse motorhome shocks?
A: Yes. KONI FSD shocks provide improved ride comfort, better vibration control, and enhanced suspension stability compared to standard factory shocks.

i have a Winnebago Adventurer 38t workhorse w series I need new shocks all around Koni fsd if possible.
Thanks, Rick Jones
( RICK JONES, 09/06/2023 )
We would want to verify with VIN but the part #'s you should need for a 2008 W-series is 8805-1001 for the front and 8805-1002 for the rear.
just bought the Koni 8805-1001 shocks from you for our W24, what is the torque for the 1 1/8" bolts? also will be doing rear shortly 8805-1002 need the torque there as well.
thanks
( Bill McElroy, 05/11/2021 )
The upper and lower shock mount bolts are torque to 150 lb-ft. The rear shock nuts are torque to 30 lb-ft.
Spec say I have 2009 Workhorse W16 chassis.
Tried 8805-1001, but Front and rear Shocks have eyelets on both ends.
Do you know which model is correct?
( Phillip Cain, 01/22/2021 )

Unfortunately, Koni does not make a shock for the 2009 or later W16 chassis.

Is the $160 price for one shock? ( Larry Powers, 06/03/2017 )

Hi Larry,

These Koni shocks are $160 each.

Just received these shocks last week and noticed there was no mounting hardware in boxes. ( Front ) Do you use existing rubber from the old shocks when mounting the new ones? Thanks. Garry. PS The front shock boxes had been open but the rear shock boxes were sealed.

( Garry Shaw, 03/28/2016 )

Garry,

The 8805-1001 does not require any additional hardware or bushings, they are pressed in. The only thing you will reuse is the nuts, bolts and washers.
