Special Notes:

Before replacing the controller, check the blue reference wire for 5 volts. This wire communicates with the controller and can trigger an error code if there is a problem. The blue reference wire runs from the controller to the PCM.

  • If you have low voltage, the issue is typically the glow plug controller or the glow plugs themselves and those components should be replaced.
  • If you have no voltage, the blue reference wire is likely broken and will need to be repaired.

  1. Reference wire
  2. Glow plugs
  3. Glow plug controller
