Heavy-Duty Front Shock Upgrade – KONI FSD for 1993-Current Freightliner XC I-Beam

Improve the ride and handling of your diesel motorhome with the KONI 8805-1020 Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) Front Shock, designed for Freightliner XC Class A motorhome chassis with I-Beam front axle and air suspension. These premium KONI shocks are engineered to improve ride comfort, steering stability, and suspension control—especially important for diesel pusher motorhomes built on Freightliner XC platforms.

KONI Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) technology automatically adapts damping based on road conditions. The shock remains firm during heavy suspension inputs such as cornering, braking, and large bumps while softening over expansion joints and rough pavement to deliver a smoother ride.

A specialized internal valve system helps reduce harsh road vibrations before they reach the chassis, improving driver comfort and reducing fatigue during long trips. The result is better steering control, reduced front-end bounce, and improved highway stability.

If your Freightliner XC motorhome experiences harsh ride quality, excessive bounce, or poor steering stability, upgrading to KONI FSD shocks is one of the most effective ways to improve ride comfort, suspension performance, and driver confidence.

Product Benefits:

  • Frequency Selective Damping automatically adapts to road conditions
  • Improves ride comfort without sacrificing suspension control
  • Reduces vibration from expansion joints and rough pavement
  • Improves front suspension stability and steering feel
  • Ideal upgrade for Freightliner XC diesel motorhome chassis
  • Premium KONI durability and long service life

Ideal For:

  • Freightliner XC motorhome suspension upgrades
  • Diesel pusher motorhomes with I-Beam front axle
  • Drivers experiencing front-end bounce or harsh ride
  • Improving steering stability and highway control
  • Long-distance RV travel and touring
  • Motorhome owners seeking improved ride comfort and handling

Applications:

  • 1993-Current Freightliner XC – Front – I-Beam Front Axle with Air Bags

The KONI 8805-1020 FSD front shock is designed specifically for Freightliner XC diesel motorhome chassis equipped with an I-beam front axle and air suspension. These motorhome chassis benefit from improved shock control to reduce suspension bounce and maintain proper steering stability. This premium KONI shock provides improved ride comfort and suspension performance compared to factory shocks.

2006 Winnebago Vectra. Correct part number for Koni shocks and front bushings? ( Jack Peterson, 11/12/2024 )
Your 2006 Vectra has the ZF Independent Front Suspension so the correct front shocks are part # 99B-3262
Looking for front and rear shocks for my 2008 Fleetwood Discovery with the I beam frontend. ( Ray Maier, 08/29/2024 )

Hello Ray, we have the Koni" FSD "shocks for that as well as the new Koni " EVO" series shocks .

They are :

8805-1020 - FRONT Freightliner XC I-Beam '93-Current (Koni FSD)

8805-1022 - REAR Freightliner XC  (Koni FSD) Koni Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) shock absorbers provide superior handling characteristics without compromising ride comfort. The FSD is firm where you need it, such as through corners, but rides soft over expansion joints and rough roads. A special valve filters out annoying vibrations before they enter the vehicle, resulting in a smooth ride over a variety of road surfaces. or :

9905-1030 - FRONT Freightliner XC I-Beam '93-Current (Koni EVO)

9905-1031 - REAR Freightliner XC  (Koni EVO) The EVO series is Koni's latest shock design. The main difference between the FSD and the EVO series piston is that it is almost 40% larger than the FSD series (50 mm vs 36 mm). The larger size means that it can take a lot more force, or the same force with less pressure which helps with cooling and better responsiveness. The larger body diameter allows for more oil capacity which also helps with cooling and increases the longevity of the shock. EVO series has a higher tensile strength than previous Koni designs. EVO incorporates open intake valves + FSD technology which exceeds the performance of FSD technology alone

Hello. I’m interested in replacing front and rear shocks on my 2005 Fleetwood Expedition 34H. It is on a Freightliner XC chassis.
I believe the correct Koni FSD would be 8055-1020 for the front and 8055-1022 for the rear, but wanted to confirm before ordering. Please let me know if these are the correct P/Ns. Thanks!
( Tim Howlett, 04/15/2024 )
Hello Tim, those are correct for your RV.
What's the warranty on these shocks ( Roland furstenfeld , 12/28/2023 )
They have a lifetime warranty through koni. The warranty is for the original purchaser only.
