KONI RV Adjustable Rear Shock Upgrade for Dodge, Freightliner & Mercedes Benz Sprinter 3500 2WD
Upgrade the suspension performance of your Sprinter with the KONI 82-2440 Heavy-Duty Adjustable Rear Shock, designed for 2003-2006 Dodge, Freightliner and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 2WD vans. These premium shock absorbers are a proven upgrade over factory shocks, delivering improved ride control, stability, and durability—especially important for heavier commercial vans, camper conversions, motorhomes, and heavily loaded vehicles.
Unlike standard replacement shocks, KONI adjustable shock absorbers feature manually adjustable rebound damping, allowing you to fine-tune suspension performance to match your vehicle weight and driving preference. Whether you're looking for a smoother highway ride or increased control with heavier loads, these shocks allow you to dial in the ride quality that best suits your Sprinter.
The adjustable rebound design also allows you to increase damping as the shocks wear over time, helping extend service life while maintaining consistent ride performance. Combined with KONI’s heavy-duty construction, these shocks deliver excellent control over large suspension movements while still providing a comfortable ride on long highway trips.
If your Sprinter suffers from excessive body roll, bouncing, or instability, upgrading to KONI adjustable shocks is one of the most effective ways to improve handling, safety, and driver confidence.

Special Notes:
- Sold individually – two shocks required per vehicle.
- These shocks have bump stops installed on the actual shocks piston shaft,up inside the dust cover. In order to fully compress the shock, that bump stop must firstbe removed from up under the dust shield and the piston rod. To remove the bump stop, with the shock removed from the vehicle first fully extend the shock, you should find thatthis leaves a small gap between the bottom of the top dust shield, and the top of the lowershock body. Then by using a long small skinny screw driver or dowel and the two holes inthe top side of the dust shield, stick the screw driver through the top two holes to work thebump stop inside the cover to the bottom of the shock rod, then remove it from the spacecreated by fully extending the shocks. Once the bump stop has been removed, then you cancompress the shock in order to engage the adjuster mechanism. Be sure to reinstall the bumpstop on the shock after making your adjustments, and prior to reinstalling on the vehicle.
