Heavy-Duty Rear Shock Upgrade – KONI Adjustable for Diesel Pushers with Reyco Suspension

Upgrade the rear suspension performance of your motorhome with the KONI 88-1457SP1 Heavy-Duty Adjustable Shock, designed for Spartan, Country Coach, Fleetwood, and Safari motorhomes equipped with Reyco or Hendrickson suspension systems. These premium KONI heavy-duty bus shocks are engineered to improve ride control, stability, and durability—especially important for diesel pusher motorhomes and heavy Class A RV applications.

Unlike standard replacement shocks, KONI adjustable shock absorbers feature manually adjustable rebound damping, allowing you to fine-tune suspension performance to match your motorhome weight, driving style, and road conditions. Whether you're looking for improved highway comfort or better control on rough roads, these shocks allow you to dial in the ride quality that best suits your coach.

The adjustable rebound design also allows you to increase damping as the shocks wear over time, helping extend service life while maintaining consistent ride performance. Combined with KONI’s heavy-duty construction, these shocks provide excellent control over large suspension movements while still delivering a comfortable ride on long highway trips.

If your motorhome suffers from excessive bouncing, body roll, or poor suspension control, upgrading to KONI adjustable shocks is one of the most effective ways to improve ride comfort, stability, and driver confidence.

Product Benefits:

  • Manually adjustable rebound damping for customized ride control
  • Improves motorhome handling, stability, and suspension performance
  • Reduces body roll, bouncing, and excessive sway
  • Designed specifically for heavy-duty bus and motorhome applications
  • Heavy-duty construction for long service life
  • Proven upgrade over factory motorhome shocks

Ideal For:

  • Class A diesel pusher motorhomes
  • Luxury motorhome suspension upgrades

The KONI 88-1457SP1 adjustable rear shock is designed for heavy-duty diesel motorhomes built on Spartan, Reyco, Gillig, and Hendrickson suspension systems. This shock provides better handling, reduced suspension bounce, and improved highway stability compared to factory shock absorbers.

What are the numbers for front and rear shocks for my 2000 Safari Serengeti Magnum 8 air bag suspension. Not the "velvet ride". Thank you ( Kris Hobbs, 09/11/2023 )
That should take the 8805-1004SP1 & 8805-1005SP1 Koni shocks.
have koni #88-1457SF1 been superseded to 88-1457SP1 ? ( chuck, 11/04/2021 )
To our knowledge, there has never been an "SF1" designation for a Koni shock.
I have a heavy coach on a 2016 F53 chassis. Whenever I've weighed the coach, it is always around the max GVW of 26K lbs. I'd like more sway control and softer damping (running aftermarket Bilstein's at the moment), so being able to adjust them is appealing. These shocks have very similar collapsed and extended length stats to the front F53 Koni shocks listed and so I can use these shocks on the F53 instead? ( Alex Blakey, 09/09/2021 )
Hello Alex, the dimensions certainly seem close enough to use them , they are valved for the rear suspension , so the application would be an experiment .
Koni 88-1457SP1 - I understand these are adjustable. How do you adjust them?

Thanks,

Brian
( Brian, 03/31/2021 )
The adjustable Koni shocks can be adjusted by holding the shock up right and compressing it completely. While compressed- turn the bottom half of the shock clockwise to tighten dampening. Turn counter clockwise to loosen.
is this the price for each shock or a set of 2 ( James Egbers, 07/09/2019 )
Koni shocks are all priced individually.
