We commonly see 2001-2005 Workhorse W20-W22's blowing the PCM/TCM fuse. This is caused by a failure in the power supply circuit of the TCM. To verify the TCM has failed, just unplug the TCM and see if the fuse still blows when the ignition is turned on. If it continues to blow then you most likely have a wiring issue.

This is a REPAIR SERVICE for TCM’s that are experiencing the above issue. If you do not have time to wait for the repair service, you may purchase the TCM outright and if it meets the above criteria, you can send in your TCM to see if it is eligible for us to “Buy Back” your TCM for $200.

THIS TCM DATE IS 12-11-02, Model 29537441. This unit is blowing fuse #27 that is hot all the time,Tcm,pcm, battery. I took out the unit and put jumper wires on plug J1 1 and 5 grounds and fused power to 3. the fuse blew. Is this the same fix? i didnt have any burnt smell or burnt marks on the board. ( Rich, 08/20/2023 )
This sounds to be the same fix. The VIN you provided is not valid though, can you please double check that? ( Support )
When I purchased this 2004 Monaco LaPalma a few months ago it already had a 15 amp fuse in the PCM/TCM fuse slot. It will blow this fuse at slow speeds (usually when downshifting) after a while but hasn’t blown it at highway speeds. I haven’t tried putting a 10 amp fuse in to see if it blows immediately. Should I try that first, or is this definitely a TCM problem? ( Nathan Dudley, 05/21/2023 )
This sounds more like a wiring issue. If the TCM was the issue, it would likely blow the 15 amp fuse immediately. My best guess is that there is a wire that is shorting out under the conditions you describe which is popping the fuse. ( Support )
I have the problem you describe. "No J1850 Activity" fault and the ECM/PCM-BATT Fuze blows. Do I ship just the top unit (as in your photo) or both the ECM and TCM? ( Kelley Griswold , 01/30/2023 )
You would ship just the TCM. ( Support )
