Heavy-Duty Rear Shock Upgrade – KONI FSD for Spartan Chassis / Tiffin PowerGlide Chassis
Upgrade the rear suspension performance of your motorhome with the KONI 8805-1009 Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) Rear Shock, designed for Spartan Mountain Master, Spartan K2, Spartan K3, and Tiffin PowerGlide Class A motorhome chassis. These premium KONI FSD shocks are engineered to improve ride comfort, stability, and suspension control—especially important for diesel pusher motorhomes equipped with Reyco Granning, ZF, or I-beam front suspension systems.
KONI Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) technology automatically adapts to changing road conditions. The shock remains firm when greater control is needed—such as during cornering, lane changes, and heavy suspension movement—but softens over expansion joints and rough pavement to deliver a smoother ride.
A specialized internal valve system helps filter harsh road vibrations before they reach the chassis, reducing driver fatigue while maintaining excellent suspension stability. The result is improved ride comfort, reduced rear suspension bounce, and better highway control for your motorhome.
If your coach experiences harsh ride quality, rear-end bounce, or unstable highway handling, upgrading to KONI FSD shocks is one of the most effective ways to improve ride comfort, suspension performance, and driver confidence.

Specifications:
| Collapsed Length | Extended Length | Upper Mount | Lower Mount |
| 15.08" | 23.70" | Eye 3/4" | Eye 3/4" |
Special Notes:
- Sold individually.
- Some Spartan and PowerGlide chassis use a 5/8" lower shock bolt instead of the standard 3/4".
- Check whether a 1-1/8" wrench fits snug on the head of the lower shock bolt. If the 1-1/8" wrench fits snug, you do not need the bushing set. If the 1-1/8" wrench fits loose, you do require the bushing set.
- If needed, use a 3/4" to 5/8" steel bushing kit.
- Verify chassis and mounting configuration before ordering.
Other Information:
Q: What is KONI Frequency Selective Damping (FSD)?
A: FSD technology automatically adjusts damping based on road frequency, providing firm control during large suspension inputs while softening over rough pavement and expansion joints.
Q: How do I know if I need the lower shock bolt bushing kit?
A: Check the lower shock bolt with a 1-1/8" wrench. If it fits snug, you do not need the bushing set. If it fits loose, your chassis likely uses a 5/8" lower bolt and requires the bushing kit.
