Front Heavy-Duty Shock Upgrade – KONI FSD for Beaver Coach Magnum Chassis

Upgrade the front suspension performance of your motorhome with the KONI 8805-1004SP1 Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) Front Shock, designed for Beaver Coach motorhomes built on the Magnum air ride chassis. These premium KONI FSD shocks are engineered to improve ride comfort, stability, and suspension control—especially important for diesel pusher motorhomes equipped with Beaver Magnum 4, 8, or 10 air bag suspension systems.

KONI Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) technology automatically adapts to changing road conditions. The shock remains firm when greater control is needed—such as during cornering, steering corrections, or large suspension movements—while softening over expansion joints and rough pavement to deliver a smoother ride.

A specialized internal valve system helps filter harsh road vibrations before they reach the chassis, reducing driver fatigue while maintaining excellent suspension stability. The result is improved ride comfort, better steering control, and enhanced highway stability for your motorhome.

If your Beaver coach experiences harsh ride quality, front-end bounce, or poor steering stability, upgrading to KONI FSD shocks is one of the most effective ways to improve ride comfort, suspension performance, and driver confidence.

Product Benefits:

  • Frequency Selective Damping automatically adapts to road conditions
  • Improves ride comfort without sacrificing suspension control
  • Reduces vibration from expansion joints and rough pavement
  • Improves steering stability and front suspension performance
  • Ideal for diesel pusher motorhomes with air ride suspension
  • Premium KONI durability and long service life

Ideal For:

  • Beaver Coach diesel pusher motorhomes
  • Magnum air ride suspension chassis
  • Motorhomes with 4, 8, or 10 air bag suspension systems
  • Long-distance RV travel and touring
  • Motorhomes seeking improved ride comfort and steering stability

Applications:

  • Beaver Magnum Air 10 Bag Chassis – Front
  • Beaver Magnum Air 8 Bag Chassis – Front
  • Beaver Magnum Air 4 Bag Chassis – Front

The KONI 8805-1004SP1 FSD front shock is designed for Beaver motorhomes built on the Magnum air ride chassis. These chassis are widely used in diesel pusher motorhomes where improved suspension control, ride comfort, and highway stability are essential. This shock helps reduce front suspension bounce, improve steering response, and provide a smoother ride compared to factory shock absorbers.

Specifications:

Collapsed Length Extended Length Upper Mount Lower Mount
15.12" 24.09" Eye 3/4" Eye 3/4"

Special Notes:

  • Sold individually.
  • Many Magnum air ride chassis use one shock per air bag, meaning you may need four shocks to complete the front suspension.
  • Some Beaver coaches use the non-SP1 version (KONI 8805-1004). Verify mounting hardware before ordering.
  • If the bottom bolt head is 1-1/8", this SP1 version is correct.
  • If the bottom bolt head is 3/4", you need KONI 8805-1004.
  • Bilstein cross reference numbers: B46-2092-M1 and AK1274.

Other Information:

Q: What is KONI Frequency Selective Damping (FSD)?
A: FSD technology automatically adjusts damping based on road frequency, providing firm control during steering inputs while softening over rough pavement and expansion joints.

Q: Why do some Beaver Magnum chassis require four front shocks?
A: Many Magnum air ride suspension systems use one shock absorber per air bag, meaning two shocks per side on the front axle.

( Steve Conroy, 09/08/2023 )
I do not have the means to VIN verify these to your chassis/coach. Does your coach have air bag suspension? How many total shocks does it have?
is helpfull to replace only two shocks on the front, would be using koni fsd due two cost ,it now has bilsten ( ned kennedy, 02/08/2022 )
We would recommend  that all 4 front shocks be the same.
What koni shocks should I buy for my coach please help ( Jay lovdal, 06/01/2021 )
Are you able to get the part #'s off the shocks that are currently installed? Does it have 8 total shocks or 4?
Do you have these in stk

Koni 8805-1004SP1
( Jeff, 05/09/2020 )
Yes, we currently have 8 on hand.
I have a 2004 Beaver 42' Marquis that states there are 10 air bags and 10 shocks. It's the Magnum M10S chassis with the tag axle. Is there anyway to measure the eyelet size to see if it has the (3/4") diameter without removing the shock? Will the bottom and top eyelet have the same diameter? Thanks ( Burt Ross, 05/01/2020 )
Burt, based on your VIN you would use 4 of the 8805-1004SP1 for the front and 6 of the the 8805-1005SP1 for the rear.
