Sprinter 3500 Motorhome Suspension, Steering, and Handling Upgrade

Roadmaster anti-sway bars deliver a noticeable improvement in vehicle stability and handling for today’s most popular motorhome chassis. The Roadmaster 1209-131 kit features a 1-1/2" diameter rear auxiliary sway bar meaning you retain the factory rear sway bar and install this one in addition. Includes heavy-duty polyurethane bushings for enhanced control and reduced body roll.

Designed for straightforward installation, Roadmaster anti-sway bars are precision-engineered from powder-coated 4140 chromoly steel and paired with high-performance polyurethane bushings for maximum durability and long-lasting support beyond factory components. Each kit includes all required mounting hardware, upgraded polyurethane bushings, and detailed installation instructions.

Applications:

  • 2007-Current Mercedes-Benz / Freightliner / Dodge Sprinter 3500

Special Notes:

  • Does not fit some Airstream models that have a propane tank inside the frame between the frame and driveline

  • May require exhaust modification on some models for proper fitment

Will the 1209-131 work on my 2022 Tiffin Wayfarer? ( Robert , 11/07/2021 )
Roadmaster does show in their application guide that this kit will fit a 2022 Sprinter 3500.
I have a 2008 Dodge/Mercedes Class B motorhome. I am searching for the best suspension upgrade. Do you have suggestions?

( Charlene Lovelace, 03/28/2021 )
The most popular suspension upgrade we offer for the Sprinter chassis is the Koni shock absorbers: https://www.ultrarvproducts.com/Koni-RV-Shocks/Koni-Shocks-Sprinter

I have a 2015 Navion motorhome and am looking at the 1209-131 auxiliary sway bar. I have read in a forum that the washers on this kit are not strong enough and give after a few thousand miles. Has the kit been upgraded or will I need to change the washers? Also, I had installed the Timbren blocks and like those. Is this still compatible with that upgrade?

( Steven Foster, 10/28/2015 )

Steven,

The 1209-131 kit is compatible with the Timbren blocks, not a problem. I hadn't heard of the issues with the washers and I even contacted Roadmaster's head suspension engineer and he had never heard of this issue. If there is a problem it hasn't been reported back to Roadmaster it sounds like. I can tell you that we've sold a lot of these kits without hearing back from anyone regarding this problem.
