Part# 53071 - Ford F53 V10 Performance Muffler

This is a replacement muffler for the Ford F53 muffler, minus the factory flanges and hangers which should be reused. This muffler flows much more air than the factory muffler and has been proven to increase performance and extract exhaust heat from the engine. These gains are also achieved while still retaining the factory mellow sound. We have seen on average a 10 horsepower increase with this muffler installed when tested on the chassis dyno.

Hi, I'm thinking of getting the Ultra Tuner and this muffler for my 34ft 1999 Fleetwood Bounder Triton V10. Just looking for better drive-ability both on the flat and on hill's. What can I expect? Thanks,

( Stuart Gregor, 05/14/2019 )
You can expect more power, better shifting and possibly better fuel economy. I always recommend the tune first but anything you do to improve air flow will be beneficial. ( Support )
Does this work on a 2017 F53? I understand Ford has improved both the intake and exhaust in the later years. ( Garrett, 05/13/2018 )

This should work just fine on your 2017, Ford really only changed the manifold design.

This is not a bolt on application due to the muffler hangers are welded onto the old mufflers, correct? ( stefan farrell, 12/21/2017 )
Yes that is correct. To re-use the flanges or hangers they must be cut from the original muffler and reattached to the new muffler. It does state that in the product description. ( Support )
so this is not a bolt on application. the flanges have to be cut off and then welded onto the new muffler? ( stefan farrell, 12/21/2017 )
Not answered yet.
what is the inler diameter of this muffler and what is the outlet diameter? I want to know if the outlet is larger then stock and if I would need a new tale pipe. thanks ( Nick Brooks, 06/29/2016 )

The inlet and outlet are both 3". You shouldn't need to make any modifications to your tailpipe in order for this to work.
