a few years back, I needed to get a new ecm from ford, I had to wait over year to get one ue to lack of available parts for the ecm. Could not find a rebuilt or used one anywhere in America, believe it or not! after I got my truck back, it ran smooth and started perfectly, but the CEL was on due to canister vent valve, I eeentually bought one, installed it, and still has light on. The power is much less than before the new ecm, my mileage has dropped from around 2 to around 8, sometimes 6, will your tuner turn off the CEL" on start up" like my edge juice in my 07 duramax which is deleted?, I am guessing the ford house detuned my truck, will your tuner restore the power I once had and hopefully the mileage?

We are not able to do anything with the emissions systems, including turning off codes. We tune the ECM based on the strategy code that is stored in the ECM, which if the truck was programmed from Ford incorrectly to begin with, may not net the results that you want. I would take the truck back to Ford and verify that they have the correct calibrations loaded for your VIN and have them run diagnostics on that code to find out if there really is an issue or if there is something corrupt in that ECM.
I have access to an OBD2 scanner that can display the strategy code. If I provide that code at the time I purchase the unit can it be programmed and ready to install when I receive it?

I have noticed engine ping when accelerating and when towing. I have increased the octane to 89 with slight improvement but the ping continues. Will the investment in UPTuning my 2017 Ford 6.8 V10 stop the ping and allow me to use 87 octane?

If you are pinging with everything stock, there is an issue that needs to be addressed. With the custom tuning, the spark is further advanced and would just exacerbate the issue. I would try cleaning or replacing the mass air flow sensor first.
I am a full-timer and have a 2019 Newmar Canyon Star 3924 (a gasser).
Why buy your product versus, say, the 5 Star device?
I will be now be towing a 2019 2-door Wrangler Sport A (JL) behind me since I just had a tow system installed. Will it matter if I sometimes do not tow my Wrangler on some trips? In other words, is your device custom programmed for always towing the Wrangler or is towing the Wrangler a moot point?

We tune each vehicle individually while 5 Star uses a "canned" tune that is pre-loaded to the device so that they can tune multiple vehicles without having to do each tune manually. The result is less work for them, but the gains are not as good. We tune for optimized performance, whether you are towing or not. If you wanted something "tweaked" later on, such as a certain shift point, we can make those corrections and update you for free.
