Part # 853072 - Workhorse 8.1L Performance Mufflers

This is a replacement muffler for the Workhorse mufflers, minus the factory flanges and hangers which should be reused. These mufflers also flow much more than the factory mufflers so you will want to install them as a set. These mufflers have proven to increase performance and extract exhaust heat from the engine. These gains are also achieved while still retaining the factory mellow sound. We have seen on average a 10-15 horsepower increase with these mufflers installed when tested on the chassis dyno.

A popular choice for most customers is to install these mufflers along with a set of Banks TorqueTube headers. This will give you the peformance that the headers provide and still leave you with true dual exhaust all the way back, without leaving the restrictive factory mufflers in place. With this combination we see about 30 horsepower and 40 ft. lbs. torque increase.

This muffler listed says it will fit a 2005 workhorse w22 chaises it states that you have to reuse the original flanges does that mean you cut the old ones off and reweld them on the new mufflers? ( Sherman Preble Jr, 05/24/2022 )

That is correct, we find installation to be the cleanest by cutting the old pipe as close to the muffler as possible so that you can just slip the pipe from the new muffler over that and still have a flanged connection. ( Support )

Will these fit a 2005 Winnebago adventurer? What type of shop will typically install these? I assume Midas or Meinkie won’t do the install.

Yes these will fit but do require cutting and clamping or welding in place. Most muffler shops wouldn't have an issue doing the install, it just comes down if they have the facilities to accommodate the size of an RV. We do not have the flanges for sale on their own. What we do here in our shop is we cut the pipe as close to the body of the muffler as possible so that we can reuse the stub of pipe with the flange. You'll need a couple exhaust gaskets (15027074) and you will probably want to pick up some 3" clamps from the local auto parts store. ( Support )

Yes these are the closest to factory replacements that we could find. If you need SS pipe after the mufflers you will need to get that custom made from an exhaust shop.

Overall length is 28" and body length is 22". We have fit them on UFO chassis's without issue, you will just need to cut the factory pipes as close to the muffler as possible so you can reuse the flanges.
